There are many many campaigns out there right now on the web with ideas that range from stupid to straight up ninja. So in this post Ninja will go on the hunt for the straight up ninja projects that will catch eyes. I will say though that some may not even be available yet as Ninja’s hunts usually turn up upcoming tech that actually may never be available or just available as latter dates as creators work to improve and get things going. Hey things fail whether good or evil intentions are involved. I advise anyone though to do research before pulling your wallets out for your next cool gadget. So here it goes….
FlexR – Control Technology With Your Muscles
This technology makes use of electromyography (EMG) — an electrodiagnostic medical technique used for evaluating and recording electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. So what is it being used for? Ever wanted to control your smartphone by flexing your muscles? If not then it is a concept being worked on right now. FlexR, is currently raising funds on Kickstarter. See the idea here is a small wearable gadget that can be attached to your skin so it can recognize muscle contractions, and translate those signals into inputs for your mobile device. Once hooked up, it allows you to play games while exercising. It is like a Wii Fit or an Xbox Kinect without the large movements like jumping or waving your arms.
This next piece of tech catches Ninja’s eye as something more worth the money spent. If any of you reading are interested in 3D Printing this can be what helps you save time while allowing your creations to improve. The NexD1, by Next Dynamics is a 3D printer that can print using six materials at the same time. Now this is just a cool thing. Now they advertise using the printer to print circuit boards but you do not need to do this. You could use it for simpler items like keychains, action figures or toys, and do this using several materials and in full color. What makes this cool is their use of non-toxic and highly water soluble materials. So basically no having to use any toxic chemical to finalize your print. This is something that sounds child-safe yet the term ECO is used to describe the materials. The company has mentioned they will be expanding their supported materials with a focus on their current types of materials but food-safe materials will get their attentions in the future.
The joining of materials and full color makes this a little more home user-friendly and so makes the Ninja Cool Tech list.
This item catches Ninja’s attention. An exercise bike with a higher purpose. But wait no, it is your bike turned into an exercise bike with a higher purpose. The idea is by a New Yorker, Ramuel Maramara, who is a mechanical engineer currently raising funds on Kickstarter. He describes his Chess Trainer as an energy-harvesting, device-powering, tour-enabled, virtual reality-enhanced stationary exercise bike machine.
The device is a stationary mount for your bike infused with many smart features like the Google Virtual Reality device which allows you to exercise in a full 360 video of different locations of your choosing. You could be in your home riding in New York. Assuming you do not already live in New York. The experience is also timed to your pace with also elevation changes made through a change in resistance.
Now get this though, the Chess Trainer also allows you to generate electrical energy through your workouts and store that energy in a battery pack called Spark. The Spark comes in three different sizes with increasing capacities which will allow you to power your phones, tablets, and laptops.
I can literally see myself exercising to have energy available to power my devices while on the go. I get a Flintstones kind of vibe from this where literally foot power is powering things.
HUDIFY | GPS That Keeps Your Eyes On The Road
This next item was added due to the level of safety it can give to drivers. Let’s face it not everyone feels the need to buy a GPS device and even they are not always the safest devices to use. Yet there are times where a GPS is needed and boom we go right to our phones. Issue is though the experience is rather annoying especially if you are in the car alone. You have to keep looking down at the map to see where you are and you cannot completely rely on timely directions due to network lag.
The Hudify aims to fix all that by offering you a transparent portable display that you place on your dash in front of you. The display is then complimented by your own smartphone and an app which will display information like turn-by-turn navigation, current speed, and speed limit of the road you are on. There is a safety camera feature where you will be informed through an alert if a red light with a camera is coming up.
